This morning, BASHandSlash.com took the wrappers off FBS, a new live PC FPS-gaming talk show we have created.
This episode, FBS 1 is the start of a new era for us in PC FPS webcasting. On this, the inaugural show, we introduce the hosts of FBS: Chris (Xiao) from the Blackmonkeys.de, Jim (Rudedog) from FPSAdmin.com and myself, Jock from BASHandSlash.com.
It is quite clear that many changes have occurred in FPS gaming in the past few years. As AAA game companies steer their products towards the average consumer, hardcore gamers and modders — once the core of the PC Gaming community — are being left behind, lost and in search of something more.
BASH, our previous foray in webcasting, we chronicled firsthand the dismantling of our community. With the outlook grim for PC gaming, we finally put BASH to bed early this year and hung up our mics. After all, what was the point? Our community was being eroded and we believed it would stop only once publishers left the PC SKU altogether; however, in only a short span of a year, change has come to our platform.
While AAA games have been a mixed bag, Battlefield 3 of course was tailor-made for PC. But, stepping up big have been indie manufacturers and the Free-to-Play scene. This spurt of activity that has compelled myself, Chris and Jim to want to strap on the guns once more and ride. With FBS 1 in the can, it signals that we’re indeed back in the saddle again.
In the future, FBS will be live on Ustream and then on demand here on YouTube: BASHandSlashtv. We will be talking about PC FPS gaming and are really looking forward in the participation of the community. As we did on this cast, future FBS’s will be recorded live. Go to BASHandSlash.com for more information!
Remember, the cast will be live and you can take part, just download the stream here: FBS Live . Remember to subscribe to our Twitter stream as we will be announcing future casts there: BASHandSlash Twitter Feed

Glad you made a return Jock, Your podcast made my 10 hr ride every other weekend bearable. Keep up the good work.
Great to hear a new potcast Jock. I like the direction it’s going–That is, well, less Call of Duty.

Nice to hear your voice again Jock! I really enjoyed the cast and i hope that you keep doing what you do best. What Day9 is for SC2 community you are for FPS (in my opinion).
Nice to see the casts back!
I was wondering… any chance of getting the old Bash casts back up?
If you have noticed, i am adding them on YouTube…slowly…but I am adding them. Which ones would you like me to prioritize?
Bash 132 and possibly the first few casts as i never had the chance to listen to them.
It’s amazing that you guys are back. I can’t wait to hear the next episode, and ofc I would like to see you guys do it regularly.
Minsk…Belarus but near enough. ;o)
Agree, agree and agree. Roll on 2012. Let’s see where this takes us and welcome back Jock.
Wargaming has a Minsk studio, Belarus and one in London I believe. Did I get it wrong?
Great to have you guys back
You´re back. All is good now
What’s wrong with my back?
Great to see you guys return – my mondays can once again be happy mondays at work

Great to see u guys back!
Good to see the show back on
Just want to add why I have this request. Basically BF3 has such potential as a new competitive FPS for the PC. But we need some support and communication with the developers, where they can talk directly with the competitive players that want BF3 to succeed. There is alot of leagues opening and tournaments, including 2K$ alienware tourney, 3K$ newegg 4v4 tourney, there is also talk of huge money prize LANs for BF3.
Thanks for bringing back some sort of FPS webcast. I enjoy them alot. Can’t wait for more. Maybe you guys can talk about BF3 competitive play, get Zh1nt0 on at one point, and bring in some of the top BF team captains to come and chat aswell. You can email me for specific contact info, but if you want to look these guys up yourself, here is a couple names, Cartel from Rival, Hollywood from HOT, Zoidberg from Zeropoint, Daskro from 20ID.
OMG i think im having a nerdgasm!!! i an’t wait for FBS 2
